Destination & City Travel Guide
About London
London works best when visits are grouped by area. The British Museum and Bloomsbury can fill one half day, while Westminster and the South Bank offer a different walk along the Thames. Borough Market is close to several river sights, and Greenwich deserves its own trip. From Heathrow, the Elizabeth line, Underground and express rail service reach different parts of the city, so the useful transfer depends on the hotel rather than simply on speed to Paddington.

- May 2025: V&A East Storehouse opened in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, allowing visitors to explore museum collections in a working storage setting.
- April 2026: V&A East Museum opened nearby, adding another art and design destination to an east London visit.
Tips for travellers from India
Paddington is convenient for Heathrow Express arrivals, but the Elizabeth line can be more useful for a hotel near Tottenham Court Road or farther east. Bloomsbury suits the British Museum and central walks; South Kensington suits the museum quarter. Compare the final station rather than only the advertised airport-train duration. Heathrow’s Piccadilly line takes another route through west London and can avoid a change for some addresses.
Air India uses Terminal 2, while British Airways operates from Terminals 3 and 5. An airline name alone therefore does not always identify the correct building. Within London, use the same contactless card or Oyster card when entering and leaving a rail service. Greenwich is a separate outing along the Thames, not a quick extension of a Westminster museum day. The V&A East sites are in the Olympic Park and should not be confused with the original V&A in South Kensington. Pair the east London museums with one another instead of crossing the city between their entrances.
Best time to visit London
May to September, commonly about 11–24°C, for longer daylight and outdoor walks.

About Mumbai
Mumbai handles a large share of India's banking, insurance, shipping and entertainment work, and its offices from Nariman Point to Bandra Kurla Complex set the pace for much of the western Indian economy. Two UNESCO World Heritage properties sit within the city: the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and the Victorian Gothic and Art Deco ensemble around the Oval Maidan. A third, the Elephanta Caves, lies across the harbour. Visitors also come for Marine Drive, the museums of Kala Ghoda and street food at Girgaum Chowpatty.

- June 2025: The final 76 km of the Samruddhi Mahamarg between Igatpuri and Amane near Thane opened on 5 June 2025, completing the 701 km expressway to Nagpur and bypassing the Kasara Ghat.
- October 2025: The Aqua Line (Metro Line 3) opened its last section to Cuffe Parade to passengers on 9 October 2025. The fully underground line now runs from Aarey through both airport terminals, Bandra Kurla Complex, Worli and Churchgate to the southern tip of the city.
- December 2025: Navi Mumbai International Airport began commercial flights on 25 December 2025, with IndiGo, Akasa Air, Air India Express and Star Air among the first airlines. For travellers bound for Navi Mumbai, Panvel or the Pune road it can be closer than the Santacruz airport.
Tips for travellers
Colaba and Fort put you within walking distance of the Gateway of India, the Kala Ghoda galleries and the Oval Maidan; Bandra and Andheri are more practical when a trip is built around suburban meetings or an early flight. Suburban trains on the Western, Central and Harbour lines carry most commuters, and the UTS on Mobile app from Indian Railways sells local tickets without a queue. Avoid boarding with luggage during the morning and evening rush.
The south-west monsoon usually reaches Mumbai in June and brings heavy rain until September, which can flood low-lying roads and slow the local trains. Ganesh Chaturthi, in August or September, draws large crowds to Lalbaug and the sea front for ten days. The Elephanta Caves are closed on Mondays. Dress conservatively at Siddhivinayak Temple and at Haji Ali Dargah, and carry a scarf to cover your head at the dargah.
Best time to visit Mumbai
November to February, with days of about 17-33°C and lower humidity. June to September brings heavy monsoon rain.
