Doha offers a practical route from Souq Waqif into Msheireb, where restored houses explain changes in the city and its working life. The Corniche links several waterfront sights, including the Museum of Islamic Art, and the National Museum adds another way to understand Qatar. The metro makes it possible to combine these areas without a car. For an Indian visitor arriving at Hamad International Airport, this compact geography can turn even a short stay into a useful city visit.
Msheireb is a strong base for a short stay: its metro interchange connects the network’s three lines, while Souq Waqif and the restored Msheireb houses are close enough to combine on foot. West Bay is more convenient for meetings among the towers, but the souq becomes a separate rail or taxi trip. From Hamad Airport, follow signs for the metro rather than the taxi forecourt if travelling by rail; the airport station is on the Red Line, and Msheireb is the useful interchange for several sightseeing routes.
The Museum of Islamic Art and National Museum of Qatar occupy different sites along the waterfront. Plan each as a museum visit in its own right instead of treating the Corniche as a shortcut between their entrances. Msheireb Museums focus on individual restored houses, so they suit a different kind of visit from the large national collections. Souq Waqif is an evening dining option after a museum day; its lanes are easier to explore once luggage is left at the hotel. Katara and The Pearl are farther north and fit better into another outing than into a crowded central itinerary. If leaving the airport during a connection, use Visit Qatar’s visa guidance to establish whether the specific passport and booking permit entry.
November to March, around 16–28°C, for the Corniche and market walks.
By Air: Hamad International Airport (DOH) is about 10–15 km from central Doha; allow about 20–30 minutes by road. The Doha Metro Red Line, buses and taxis link it with the city.
By Rail: Msheireb is the main metro interchange for the Red, Gold and Green lines; the Red Line serves the airport.
By Road: Mowasalat buses and taxis connect Doha districts and nearby towns.

Mumbai handles a large share of India's banking, insurance, shipping and entertainment work, and its offices from Nariman Point to Bandra Kurla Complex set the pace for much of the western Indian economy. Two UNESCO World Heritage properties sit within the city: the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and the Victorian Gothic and Art Deco ensemble around the Oval Maidan. A third, the Elephanta Caves, lies across the harbour. Visitors also come for Marine Drive, the museums of Kala Ghoda and street food at Girgaum Chowpatty.
Colaba and Fort put you within walking distance of the Gateway of India, the Kala Ghoda galleries and the Oval Maidan; Bandra and Andheri are more practical when a trip is built around suburban meetings or an early flight. Suburban trains on the Western, Central and Harbour lines carry most commuters, and the UTS on Mobile app from Indian Railways sells local tickets without a queue. Avoid boarding with luggage during the morning and evening rush.
The south-west monsoon usually reaches Mumbai in June and brings heavy rain until September, which can flood low-lying roads and slow the local trains. Ganesh Chaturthi, in August or September, draws large crowds to Lalbaug and the sea front for ten days. The Elephanta Caves are closed on Mondays. Dress conservatively at Siddhivinayak Temple and at Haji Ali Dargah, and carry a scarf to cover your head at the dargah.
November to February, with days of about 17-33°C and lower humidity. June to September brings heavy monsoon rain.
By Air: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) spans Santacruz and Sahar, about 25 km north of Colaba; allow 60-90 minutes by road to south Mumbai at busy times. The Aqua Line metro has stations at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and prepaid taxis and app cabs operate from both terminals.
By Rail: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai Central, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Bandra Terminus handle long-distance trains. Vande Bharat trains run to Madgaon in Goa and to Gandhinagar via Ahmedabad, and the Rajdhani links Mumbai Central with New Delhi.
By Road: The Mumbai-Pune Expressway leads to Pune and the Samruddhi Mahamarg to Nashik and Nagpur. MSRTC and private coaches run to Pune, Goa and Gujarat from Dadar, Borivali and Mumbai Central.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM). Terminal 2 at Sahar handles all international flights and Air India's domestic network, while Terminal 1 at Santacruz serves low-cost domestic carriers. Some airlines changed terminals during 2026, and the two buildings are a 15-20 minute drive apart, so confirm the terminal before setting out.
