Destination & City Travel Guide
About Tashkent
Tashkent presents two very different city walks. Around Chorsu Bazaar, traders and food stalls sit near Kukeldash Madrasah and older lanes. Near Amir Timur Square, formal avenues lead towards museums and civic buildings. The metro links these areas and is a useful way to judge the scale of the capital. Travellers from India may spend only a first night before an Uzbek rail trip, but an extra day gives time for both the market district and the Museum of Timurid History.

Tips for travellers from India
A hotel near Amir Timur Square is useful for the formal central avenues and Museum of Timurid History, whereas the Chorsu area places the bazaar and older streets closer. The metro connects these different parts of Tashkent, so a station near the hotel can matter more than proximity to one landmark. Chorsu and Kukeldash Madrasah make a natural pair; the wider Hazrati Imam complex belongs to another part of an old-city outing.
For an onward train to Samarkand or Bukhara, use the specific Tashkent station printed on the ticket. North and South station references are not interchangeable, and an airport pickup should not simply be directed to the railway station without that detail. The airport is on the southern side of the urban area, while the old bazaar lies farther northwest. A first afternoon around Amir Timur Square can therefore be simpler than immediately crossing to every heritage site. At Chorsu, the covered market and surrounding trading streets form a working commercial area, so a food-and-market visit needs different pacing from the museum galleries. Several Tashkent metro stations, including Kosmonavtlar with its space-themed panels and Alisher Navoi with its domed ceilings, have richly decorated halls, so a short ride can be part of the sightseeing.
Best time to visit Tashkent

About New Delhi
New Delhi is the seat of India's central government, and the metropolis around it runs on public administration, services, retail and the corporate offices of Gurugram and Noida. Three UNESCO World Heritage Sites lie within the city: the Red Fort complex, the Qutb Minar and its monuments, and Humayun's Tomb. Visitors come for those sites, for the food lanes of Old Delhi and for trade fairs at Pragati Maidan, and many use Delhi as the first stop before Agra, Jaipur or the hills of Himachal and Uttarakhand.

Tips for travellers
For a two or three day stay, Connaught Place, Paharganj and Karol Bagh sit on the Blue and Yellow metro lines, while Aerocity suits early departures because it is next to the airport. The Delhi Metro is the quickest way across the city, and a smart card or a QR ticket bought on a phone saves time at the counters. October to March is the main sightseeing season, though smog can be heavy in November, and Diwali week fills hotels and trains. May and June are extremely hot.
The Red Fort is closed on Mondays. At Jama Masjid and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, remove your shoes and cover your shoulders and legs; the gurudwara also asks everyone to cover their head and lends scarves at the entrance. Swaminarayan Akshardham does not allow phones or cameras inside, so leave them in the cloakroom or at the hotel.

Airport Information & Terminals
DEL: Indira Gandhi International Airport. Delhi airport is large and terminal-sensitive. T3 is easiest by Airport Express Metro; T1 and T2 need a cab, shuttle or careful terminal planning. Connaught Place and central Delhi are usually workable from the airport, but office traffic and winter fog can change the whole plan.
