New York looks different from the JFK arrival route than from a Midtown postcard. The airport is in Queens, so an AirTrain connection at Jamaica can lead to Manhattan by Long Island Rail Road or subway. Once in the city, group outings by borough: a museum and Central Park work well together, while the Brooklyn waterfront belongs to another afternoon. Visitors may be visiting relatives as much as monuments. Check whether the hotel is nearer Penn Station, Grand Central or a subway route before choosing the transfer.
For a JFK arrival, Jamaica offers a choice between Long Island Rail Road and subway connections. The useful Manhattan endpoint may be Penn Station or Grand Central, depending on the hotel, so compare the full route before selecting a train. AirTrain also connects with the subway at Howard Beach, which serves a different approach to the city.
Air India uses Terminal 4, alongside several other international airlines. The AirTrain terminal stop is therefore part of the return plan, not just the city-rail station. A Queens stay may avoid a Manhattan detour when visiting family near the airport side of the city. For sightseeing, reserve one day for Central Park and an Upper East Side museum, another for Lower Manhattan and a harbour ferry. Brooklyn’s waterfront can be reached as its own afternoon rather than added between Midtown appointments. Jackson Heights supplies a distinct Queens dining area, while Harlem’s Studio Museum is far north of the downtown ferry piers. These neighbourhood choices should shape the itinerary before individual attraction tickets are booked.
April to June or September to October, around 10–25°C, for walking.

New Delhi is the seat of India's central government, and the metropolis around it runs on public administration, services, retail and the corporate offices of Gurugram and Noida. Three UNESCO World Heritage Sites lie within the city: the Red Fort complex, the Qutb Minar and its monuments, and Humayun's Tomb. Visitors come for those sites, for the food lanes of Old Delhi and for trade fairs at Pragati Maidan, and many use Delhi as the first stop before Agra, Jaipur or the hills of Himachal and Uttarakhand.
For a two or three day stay, Connaught Place, Paharganj and Karol Bagh sit on the Blue and Yellow metro lines, while Aerocity suits early departures because it is next to the airport. The Delhi Metro is the quickest way across the city, and a smart card or a QR ticket bought on a phone saves time at the counters. October to March is the main sightseeing season, though smog can be heavy in November, and Diwali week fills hotels and trains. May and June are extremely hot.
The Red Fort is closed on Mondays. At Jama Masjid and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, remove your shoes and cover your shoulders and legs; the gurudwara also asks everyone to cover their head and lends scarves at the entrance. Swaminarayan Akshardham does not allow phones or cameras inside, so leave them in the cloakroom or at the hotel.
October to March, with days of about 7-30°C; November can bring heavy smog. April to June often passes 40°C.
By Air: Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) is about 16 km south-west of Connaught Place; allow 40-60 minutes by road, more at peak hours. The Airport Express metro line links Terminal 3 with New Delhi station, the Magenta Line serves Terminal 1, and prepaid taxis and app cabs run from all terminals.
By Rail: New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Old Delhi and Anand Vihar Terminal are the main stations. Vande Bharat trains run to Varanasi, Amritsar and Katra, and Rajdhani services link the city with Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
By Road: NH 44 runs north to Punjab and Kashmir, the Yamuna Expressway reaches Agra, and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is open in sections to the south-west. State and private buses leave from the Kashmere Gate, Anand Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan bus terminals.
