Nairobi offers a rare pairing of city museums and wildlife. Nairobi National Park lies close to the urban edge, while the National Museum introduces the country through natural and cultural collections. Central markets and neighbourhood cafés add a different day. Travellers from India often use the city before a safari or a meeting, but a short stay still needs careful road planning. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is southeast of the centre, and traffic can change the transfer time sharply.
Select a Nairobi base around the main purpose of the visit. A central hotel works for the National Museum and business in the core, while Karen is more useful for attractions on the southwestern side. A safari operator’s pickup point matters as much as the hotel’s straight-line distance from the airport. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Wilson Airport are separate facilities, and some onward safari flights use Wilson, requiring a road transfer rather than an airside connection.
Nairobi National Park is a wildlife outing with its own entry arrangements and vehicle planning; it cannot be treated like a city garden reached between meetings. Reserve a distinct block for it and avoid combining a game drive with a tightly timed departure from the international airport. The National Museum offers a different introduction to Kenya through its collections and can anchor an indoor half-day. Markets and central streets fit better around that museum visit than around a cross-city airport transfer. If staying in Karen, group southwestern attractions together before returning to the hotel. For an onward safari, confirm which Nairobi airport appears on the domestic ticket, the operator’s baggage allowance and the pickup location. This prevents a short city stay from becoming a sequence of unnecessary drives between the two airports and opposite hotel districts.
June to September or January to February, about 12–27°C, for generally drier outings.

New Delhi is the seat of India's central government, and the metropolis around it runs on public administration, services, retail and the corporate offices of Gurugram and Noida. Three UNESCO World Heritage Sites lie within the city: the Red Fort complex, the Qutb Minar and its monuments, and Humayun's Tomb. Visitors come for those sites, for the food lanes of Old Delhi and for trade fairs at Pragati Maidan, and many use Delhi as the first stop before Agra, Jaipur or the hills of Himachal and Uttarakhand.
For a two or three day stay, Connaught Place, Paharganj and Karol Bagh sit on the Blue and Yellow metro lines, while Aerocity suits early departures because it is next to the airport. The Delhi Metro is the quickest way across the city, and a smart card or a QR ticket bought on a phone saves time at the counters. October to March is the main sightseeing season, though smog can be heavy in November, and Diwali week fills hotels and trains. May and June are extremely hot.
The Red Fort is closed on Mondays. At Jama Masjid and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, remove your shoes and cover your shoulders and legs; the gurudwara also asks everyone to cover their head and lends scarves at the entrance. Swaminarayan Akshardham does not allow phones or cameras inside, so leave them in the cloakroom or at the hotel.
October to March, with days of about 7-30°C; November can bring heavy smog. April to June often passes 40°C.
By Air: Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) is about 16 km south-west of Connaught Place; allow 40-60 minutes by road, more at peak hours. The Airport Express metro line links Terminal 3 with New Delhi station, the Magenta Line serves Terminal 1, and prepaid taxis and app cabs run from all terminals.
By Rail: New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Old Delhi and Anand Vihar Terminal are the main stations. Vande Bharat trains run to Varanasi, Amritsar and Katra, and Rajdhani services link the city with Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
By Road: NH 44 runs north to Punjab and Kashmir, the Yamuna Expressway reaches Agra, and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is open in sections to the south-west. State and private buses leave from the Kashmere Gate, Anand Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan bus terminals.
