Destination & City Travel Guide
About Tokyo
Tokyo is too large for a single-centre itinerary, so choose connected districts. Asakusa pairs Sensoji with older shopping streets, Ueno has museums and park paths, and Meiji Jingu provides a wooded pause near Harajuku and Shibuya. Narita Airport is far east of the city rather than in central Tokyo. Arriving visitors can use express rail or buses, but should decide first whether their accommodation is near Tokyo Station, Ueno, Shinjuku or another interchange.

Tips for travellers from India
Ueno is a useful base for a Keisei arrival from Narita and visits to its museums; Tokyo Station suits onward Shinkansen travel, while Shinjuku puts the western city close by. The Narita Express and Keisei routes serve different stations, so select the train for the accommodation district rather than taking the first express advertised. Narita is also a separate airport from Haneda, which matters on a connection involving two Tokyo bookings.
Air India’s Narita check-in is in Terminal 2 on the third floor. The airport has more than one rail stop serving its terminals, so use the terminal information with the train destination. Asakusa and Ueno make a sensible eastern-city pair, whereas Meiji Jingu, Harajuku and Shibuya form another day. The Toyota Arena Tokyo opened in the Odaiba area in October 2025, adding a sports and entertainment venue that needs a separate waterfront-area trip. An event there should not be fitted between Asakusa temple visits without considering the rail transfers. Sensoji’s approach through Nakamise is a shopping street as well as a route to the temple, while Ueno’s museums have individual admissions. Choose a particular collection rather than assuming that one park ticket covers every museum. Narita’s distance makes the final airport-train reservation part of the day’s itinerary.
Best time to visit Tokyo
March to May or October to November, about 10–24°C, for walking districts.

By Air: Narita International Airport (NRT) is about 60 km from central Tokyo; Narita Express takes roughly an hour to Tokyo Station. Other rail services, coaches and taxis are available.
By Rail: Tokyo and Ueno stations are major rail hubs; Narita Express serves Tokyo Station and other interchanges.
By Road: Airport coaches connect Narita with Tokyo Station, Ginza and hotel districts; intercity coaches use major terminals.
What to do in Tokyo
Walk through Asakusa to Sensoji.
Visit museums around Ueno Park.
Follow the wooded approach to Meiji Jingu.

Narita International Airport (NRT). Air India uses Narita Terminal 2, with international check-in on the third floor. Narita has separate terminal buildings and rail stops, so passengers should match the train stop to the airline’s terminal.
About Seoul
Seoul rewards a district-by-district plan. Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon frame a day around older streets, while Myeongdong and Hongdae show different sides of its shopping and café culture. The Han River provides walking and cycling space between built-up neighbourhoods. Incheon International Airport lies west of the city on an island; its rail link makes Seoul Station a useful first point for many visitors arriving from India. Check the final metro connection before choosing a late arrival.

What's new in Seoul
- May 2025: Photography Seoul Museum of Art opened, adding a dedicated photography venue to the city’s museum choices.
- January 2026: Asiana Airlines moved from Incheon Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, changing the airport building and rail stop used by its passengers.
Tips for travellers from India
Hongdae is useful for an airport-rail arrival and an evening in its surrounding streets, while Myeongdong puts central shopping closer. A palace-focused stay can favour the Jongno area instead. The Airport Railroad’s express and stopping trains serve different purposes: the express links the airport with Seoul Station, while stopping services reach additional interchanges. Choose according to the hotel district.
Asiana moved to Terminal 2 on 14 January 2026, so older guides that send its passengers to Terminal 1 are out of date. Incheon’s official app and flight information identify the correct terminal before a return train ride. Gyeongbokgung and Bukchon belong together geographically, but Bukchon includes residential lanes and should be approached as a lived-in neighbourhood. Hongdae is a separate western outing rather than the next stop on a palace walk. The Han River also has many access points; select a particular riverside park instead of navigating to the river in general. That choice determines the useful metro station and prevents an unnecessary crossing of Seoul.
Best time to visit Seoul
